In Time for Flute Trio
In Time is a piece that meditates on intersections and moments of pulling apart. While perfect time is needed to pull this piece together, the idea of the ever-shifting scales is to represent pathways in life. Lately I have though a lot about how certain interactions and intersections between myself and other things occur. Pathways can cross and travel parallel for years or only days. We may get to be somewhere for a long time, but sometimes it only touches our lives for a moment.
The interactions we have with people, places, things do not become less meaningful just because of the timing. It is all part of a larger whole.
Dedicated to all my professors, peers, and friends at James Madison University, I am forever grateful that our paths have crossed.
